Hey everyone! Well the name of this post kinda says it all..our beautiful baby is here! Claire Lucile Murie was born on Dec 8th @ 8:59 pm. 6 lbs 12 oz and 19 1/2 in. long. And she is perfect :). So I know a lot of you guys wanted to hear the story so here it is minus the gross details haha.

On wed December 7th around 7 pm I was just folding laundry and when I stood up I felt like I wet my pants! My first thought was wow baby must have kicked my bladder hard! But then it kept coming and I yelled for Ben and said 'Um..I think my water broke" Ben and my mom got the bags and we where off to the hospitol.

At the hospitol I was dialated to a 4 so we had a while to go. I don't know how to describe contractions...they are kinda like cramps but not (?). So that was probably one of the most uncomfortable nights sleep I've had. The next morning I was VERY uncomfortable but they wanted to wait to give me the epideral so they gave me some other medicine until then and all I remember was that it made me really tired and when I was awake I felt like it was a dream, very weird.

Once I had the epideral it was sooo nice, and all the horror stories I've heard of getting he epideral where false..it didn't even hurt.

I was in labor for 21 hrs then I finally had our baby girl. The first few weeks where quite stressful, every thing just happens all at once it seems and I felt like I had no idea what I was doing or how to take care of a baby, I mean this little life depense on me for food and everything! Thankfully I had my mom come and take care of the house, me and Claire :) I don't know how I would have gotten through it without her. I also have Ben, and he is such a good help when I need him so I don't go insane taking care of Claire all day, I sure love him.

I honestly think the worst part of having a baby is afterwards..I seriously could barley move the first week I hurt like none other I felt like I would never get better!

Now we are doing a lot better! Claire is on her schedual, I'm at home, and Ben's at school. Not to say having a baby is easy because it sure isn't, I am learning a lot of patience and loving being with my new family! <3

I love this time of the year. First off because it's when Ben and I started dating back in 2007, and I just love the weather and smells of fall. I also remember some not so fun events like my first misscarriage, it will be one year in a couple weeks since that loss, but now a year later instead of a misscarriage we get a baby! After I realised this I've been thinking how a lot can happen and change in just one year. After two misscarriages I remember feeling so frustrated and hopeless and then the worry once I got pregnant again with our little baby we have now, to be honest the worry hasn't gone away until I was 37 weeks along and can now safely have our baby :) now it's just pure anxiety to see her! I've seen the Lords hand in all the events in Ben and I's lives this past year and I am so thankful for them all, the good, bad and ugly. To say the least we are different and better people than we where a year ago. Sorry if this is a long post I just felt like writing a bit of my thoughts today :) and in honor of thanksgiving here are some things I am grateful for:

1. Ben- where would I be without him?! He has always been there for me especially through the hard times, I've learned what true love is like with him.

2. Home- with so many people struggling I'm glad we have a warm house when its raining or snowing outside.

3. Our baby- Even though she hasn't been born yet, I'm soo exited to hold her and cuddle with her and Ben. I seriously just look at her ultrasounds everyday all day long. I've been wanting to be a mom for a long time and it's FINALLY happening.

4. My healthy pregnancy body- I'm allowed one vain thing right?! I do love my prego body, it's treated me well, no stretchmarks, no spider veins, no swelling, minimal weight gain and my oh so nice hair..seriously I don't mind being pregnant more often minus the back pains..those are a killer.

5. Family- Ben and I have the best families in the world. We miss everyone so much and can't wait to visit sometime. They have all been so helpful from giving us advice to helping us move or to just talk and support us with what we need, seriously, what would we do without you guys.

6. Friends- You help more than ever now that we are away from family! Thanks to our 'Erie family' for helping us out. And to our friens in Utah thanks for checking up on us and for always eing our friends!

7. Our Religion- It is the one thing we can always count on to be constant and to turn to for questions and answers to everything in life. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been the best thing for our marriage and life in general. I love knowing our family is eternal and I get to be with the people I love forever.

There are so many other things I am thankful for so these are just a few :)
On another note here are some pictures from recent events, for the ward Thanksgiving party us, Danielle & Harry, Mike and Even decided to deep fry a turkey, and it actually came out soo good and moist! Also here are some maternity pictures done by the one and only Elisa Griggs, she did such a good job, thanks!

Hello!
This past weekend we where able to go to the Palmyra Temple! It takes us about 3 hrs to get to our temple out here so it was a whole day event. We went to pick up Schell, a new member from our ward, so she could do confirmations and Ben and I did a session. The drive through NY is beautiful with all the fall colors!
This was our first time in the Temple here! It is a beautiful temple inside and out! So here are some pictures from that.
Then on Sunday we wanted to get some fresh air and we went to the lake and took pictures, I now look like a blob at 34 weeks prego..I don't look to fabulous in pictures so much anymore so bare with me :) Funny story actually, this morning I was dropping Ben off at school and he said 'you know, you really don't look pregnant.' bless his heart..I know he means my belly isn't as huge as we expected it to be by now, but it could be interpreted as 'you just look fat' haha but thankfully I'm not one to do that so we just had a good laugh about it instead, oh how I love him :) well that's it for now, I'll post pictures after Halloween, I'm trying to find some kind of cool pregnant costume but I'm not very creative so I might have to look on pinterest or something to find a cool idea.

We took a break to the lake with some friends to have dinner and to chill

On the 21st Ben turned 27! So In honor of his birth here are a few things that I love about him:

1. I love how he sings in the shower, I never need a radio with him around :)
2. How hard he works at school but still makes time for me and baby
3. He is a amazing cook
4. His obsession with socks makes me smile, because I know if he gets me a pair of nice socks it means he really cares for me :)
5. I love his sense of humor and how we just get each other

Ward camp out

This past weekend our ward had a camp out Friday and Saturday and we had a great time! We couldn't sleep over night because Ben was helping with the heart walk the next morning and I can barley sleep in our bed comfortably haha :) But we had a nice fireside and roasted marshmallows and hot dogs and enjoyed good company :)
This week is pretty busy for Ben, he has a couple quizzes and a dreaded anatomy test on Friday so prayers will be greatly appreciated lol. But Ben has been doing amazing with school so far I'm so proud of him! A lot of work and time go into med school but thankfully he takes time for us too :))
My pregnancy is going well! I am 7 months along now and just started my third trimester! The final stretch :) good news is no stretch marks so far yesss, either the almond oil I put on every day is working or they are just waiting for the right time haha. I have a appointment tomorrow with my doctor and I get to take the Glucose Tolerance Test I always felt so bad when I was at the hospital and had to give pregnant woman the test I don't know why it just doesn't seem to fun to me, but I'm sure it won't be that bad.

Hello! Long time no post I know...Ben and I have been pretty busy Ben starting Med School and me, well making a baby isn't easy either :)
Ben is liking school so far. He is in class from 8-4 with a lunch break he then comes home eats dinner/talks for a couple-few hours then its back to studying and then bed. It's literally a full time job. But despite it all we still get time together and he still makes it to the doctors appointments and that's whats important.
During our summer we where able to visit Ben's mission Detroit! He was soo exited to go back and show me everything and I loved every second of it :) I also posted a picture of our baby girl ultrasound at 20 weeks and pictures from my visit for the baby showers, enjoy!

Spain trip

Wow two blog posts in a week this has got to be a record for me... well I failed to mention we went on a awesome trip to Spain! We went for about 2 weeks and stayed with my Uncle and his wife, these to people are amazing! Not only did they let us into their home for two weeks but they also put up with my morning sickness, now if thats not love I don't know what is! Thanks Uncle Josue and Aunt Maritza we will be forever thankful :)

We stayed in a town about 30 min from Madrid called Villalba. We loved this town. It was so fun to be with my family and go into the little stores with Ben and just mosy around town. We also where able to go to Madrid and do site seeing, then we went to Toledo which was way neat, it's a medevil town and has knights and castles and cathedrals and all that jazz. Im trying to post pictures of my grandparents to, but its not working..I'll figure it out and post more later.

After what has seemed like FOREVER we made it! Instead of 'planning' to move, and all the we 'might' move to ____ or ____ I feel like we are finally moving on with our lives!

With Ben starting Med School, having a baby in December, having a house, moving to Erie, its a lot to take in all at once but I know we can do it :) No pictures of oue house yet due to the fact that its a mess of boxes right now and apparently our baby thinks im better off puking in the bathroom. Any info about what helps your morning sickness is welcome because I am out of ideas!

We have been able to do a bit of site-seeing since moving here. We went to Kirtland and saw the temple there, and we went to Niagra Falls, Palmyra, Philadelphia, Intercourse and Hershey Pennsulvania.....whew :) To say the least we are staying home to rest for a bit. But here are pictures of our ventures.

We are officially moving to.......................Drum roll please................................. Erie, PA!
We will be moving the 1-2 week in June and its really starting to hit us that that's like oh..2 months away?! We even found somewhere to live! Its a house close to LECOM so Ben can walk to school and I {love} the house! so here are some pictures of the house we are going to be renting for the next 4-6 yrs. Home sweet home!

Major Update

So you know how it's winter time and I have seriously been sick every month, have been working and going to school? I haven't had much time to blog lol! Well here is my sad attempt to update everyone with a few picture haha :)

Niagara Falls, NY. Ben and I where able to go back east to Pennsylvania and Tennessee for a couple of his Med. School interviews. While in Erie, PA we figured why not do a little sight seeing? So we went to Niagara, it is seriously amazingly bea-utiful up there! Thankfully not all the Autumn leaves had vanished yet and we got to see some pretty places!
Ben has been accepted to a couple Medical Schools! I am so proud of him and how hard he works to accomplish his goals, I would be lost without him in my life!

Right before Spring semester started we to a little vacation to Salt Lake for his interview with University of Utah. I love this picture because it is classic Ben with his suit on and a beanie. We find out from U of U in March/April if he's been accepted there, if not Pennsylvania here we come! :)

So I also started a Phlebotomy class this semester and Ben is so nice to let me practice on him, not for real yet...just pretending to poke him for now with his fake band-aid lol!

Oh how I wish you all could see this in real life, it's kinda my pride and joy at the moment :P I got a wood board from Roberts and painted, distressed, made magnets and put "Murie" on it, what is it you ask? Oh its our FHE chart :) for now it's just a magnet board for pictures but i'm going to put "lesson" "song" etc..on it for Family Home Evening, I'm pretty exited about it.

"A family who cooks together stays together" right?! At least its worked for us so far, We decided to make crab won-tons and they are {oh} so delish! And look how good they look too!

Last but not least..My dearest Sofia! She turned 2 last week and I asked her to smile for me after eating her cake and look at this face she pulled haha she was one happy camper! Oh she makes my day :)

Some news

So Ben and I have some news, here is the story.
On monday afternoon at about 6 pm I started to bleed and cramp, we decided to go to the ER. While there they took blood test etc. and gave me a ultrasound. They where concerned because in the untrasound they couldn't find the baby only the gastriel (?) sack, they said I was only measuring at 4 weeks instead of 10 weeks. We went home and Ben gave me a blessing and we felt that no matter what everything would work out.
They made a appointment with my doctor for Tuesday morning. At the doctors office they said besides my bleeding and cramps they couldn't find anything else to crazy. The doctor said he was afraid I was having a miscarrage, so he gave me some prego-approved meds to help with the crapming pain so I could sleep, and ordered another blood test for Thursday to track my HCG levels to see if they are dropping.
Thursday the blood test came back and the doctor called me and said my HCG levels where dropping rapidly and comfirmed I am having a miscarrage.
What simplied version of what the doctor said happened is that once we conceived and the DNA didn't split correctly so it was unable to develop past four weeks and I continued to have pregnancy symptoms until now.

It is always hard to lose something even at 4 weeks, but Ben and I have come to understand that it was out of our hands and in Gods. We both feel comforted by our Heavenly Father and know he has a plan for us and our future children when they come until then we will be patient.
The past week has been reallt tough, thanks you all for your phone calls (sorry I didn't answer, I couldn't handle phone calls) and kind words.

Summer has been so much fun I haven't posted for a while! Well Ben and I have just been working a lot and Ben has been working on applications for grad school. We also celebrated our 2 year anniversary on Monday the 2nd, so we went camping in Yellowstone and had a great time! We had a couple bears at our campground, but thankfully no damage :) so here are some pictures, enjoy!

So random..my parents got 5 little chicks! They git ine for each of us so Ben and I get to have fresh eggs once they start laying! They are soo fun, we named our chick Ashley :). Someday Ben and I would like to have our own little place with a garden, dog and some chicks and we will be happy haha :) but untill then we can garden and have chicks at my parents house.

Thats right Sea World! I've never been and I wanted to some day, so when Bens parents said they where taking the whole family over Easter weekend Ben and I where soo exited! It was a nice treat to leave all our worries behind for a while! We got to pet Dolophines, Bat Rays (Our favorite!), star fish and just have so much fun! Not to mention we went to Seaport village, Old town San Diego, and hung out at the beach! What a great family vacation! Thanks Tana and Kelly! :)

So these are 'Old time pictures' ha ha Just kidding they are only from last year I just found them! We went on a family outing to Lagoon and here are pictures from Ben and I's garden during summer 2009, we had only 2 tomato plants but they exploded into giant monster plants! We had SOO many tomatoes! Our tomato plants where a hybrid so some where purple tomatoes and some where pineapple flavored it was really good and we had a great time growing our own food :) Thanks to mom and dad for letting us use some gardening space :))

Day 14

So I was supposed to update on day 10, but oh well :) Ben and I have been doing the hCG diet for 14 days now! Whew it seems like we've been doing it for longer tho! At first I did get quite a bit of headaches so I have to remember to drink lots of h20 and now im fine :) I've lost a total of 10 lbs so far and so has Ben! We even 'splurged' a little this weekend after my Ballet on friday and ate a bit of apple crisp and artichoke dip, it didn't throw off our diet to bad. I also found a recipe for grapefruit smoothie you take 1/2 grapefruit, stivia and ice and its delish!! One thing Ben and I have noticed while on the diet is how sometimes we eat just to eat! It seems we have a lot more time to use because we can't eat/snack whenever we want, and we noticed how much sugar we would eat...I've learned to use healthy substitutions like useing greek yogart instead of sour cream (and it tastes just as good, or better!) That is one thing we really like about this diet, it really teaches you to watch what you eat and make healthier choices!

So Ben and I are starting the hCG diet, this includes taking hCG drops a few times a day along with eating 500 calories a day. We heard a lot of people talking about it and decided to give it a try :) So I will be updating and posting about how we are doing withthat since I have had some people wonder how I like it and stuff. So today is day 5 out of 40 days of the diet and we feel good so far! It was a little hard at first, I mean 500 calories??!! But yes it can be done! Tonight Ben and I had some Tilapia (thank you Keith and Shalyce!!) and yummy asparagus. So I will keep and update to how that is working for us :)

True meaning of Christmas

Ben and I are soooo exited for Christmas! We recently went down to St. George to do the nativity at Tuachan, and I was thinking how sometimes we get in the hussle and bussle of buying things and create much unneeded stress, when this time of the year is supposed to be opposite of stressful. We where so lucky to participate in the Nativity it really set the mood for Christmas. It helped Ben and I realize how lucky we are to have scholorship housing, our school paid for, and to have each other and our AMAZING family and friends :)

SO...in the Nativity me, Ben, Emily, Jacob and Sadie where shepherds, Tana was a town person and Kelly was a wise man, very appropriate :).

Holiday spirit!

First off can I just say how much I LOVE this time of year?! Not only do I love Christmas, snow (sometimes..) and the snuggling with my love when its cold, but I love it because December 1st is when Ben and I had our first date <3 and when we started dating, So it has great memories :). So Ben and I started some Christmas decorating! We can actually have a big Christmas tree because we have room in our new apartment, so we pretty much had a blast decorating it. We also got our Christmas present early this year we got a new camera! Its so schweet! So here are some pictures of our holiday spirit and things :)

Haha! What can you do besides laugh at him? ;) as soon as he turned around I got a hand full of flour and the rest is history :) we had quite a fun time making bread to say the least.

Thanksgiving weekend

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Ben and I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! Ben and I went to Hurricane to spend thanksgiving with the family and it was delicious!! Who wouldn't love food made by the Murie clan? it was exellent :) Then on Sat. we headed up to Fillmore for the Alldredge family and had some more exellent food! Ben and I are well fed for the next week we ate so much haha :).

Vegas!

So last weekend Ben and I went to Hurricane for Jacobs birthday party and Bens cousins wedding, but little did I know there was more...Ben planned a weekend getaway to Vegas! Which is exactally what we needed after a crazy week of school! So Ben made all the arrangements, so he took me to eat at the tournament of kings! I have always wanted to go to one and now I have! It was soo cool! They rode around in horses and did jousting, I would highly recommend it! Ben even got us special seats in the Spain section! it was neat to say the least! after that we stayed at the Suncoast and we had a $20 meal credit to our room, since we already ate that night we did the most logical thing...we used it to get $20 worth of bagles and cream cheese! We now have in our fridge all varieties of bagles and I love it :) So that was our Vegas adventure.

So we had to eat with our hands it was great! The lady we were sitting by was trying to be all lady like about eating with her hands...made us look like a pigs haha

So once we were done in Vegas we went to Hurricane for the little and big Jakes Birthday party! every year we celebrate the birthdays together and it was so much fun! We have amazing food from Tana and Emily and it not a Murie party unless there is a competitive game of Alien! man those Muries sure know how to play!

I hope everyone had a spooktakular time! Ben and I had a blast this halloween! We volunteered at the east elementary carnival and our 'job' was to do the ski ball game and give tickets to the kids, I got hit so many times with the ball! kids aren't the best at aiming, but we had a blast none the less :)

Then halloween morning we got up and did the 1st annual hollows 5k run with the SUU triathalon club! It was pretty chilly but that changed as soon as we started running! and the best thing is that we finished whew! they had a raffel, hot chocolate and other treats at the end. here are some picturesfrom the 5k.

On Haloween night we went over to my parents house and played a murder mystery game WW1 style! And in the end of the game guess who was the murderer? Only Ben Murie! nobody even guessed him and I defended him the whole time (sign of a good wife right? even if my husband was a murderer im still there for him!) We would like to thank Lily for organizing the game and all the work she put into it!! yay Lily :)

One last thing, Ben and I got a new couch! (new to us anyway..) We decided to try to sell our other couches and just buy one sofa since we will most likely (ok, VERY likely) to be moving around and stuff, its also italian leather so when we have kids I can just wipe up a mess! I love our couch and so if anyone is trying to buy a couch and a loveseat ben and I would be happy to sell you our old ones!

So Ben and I have been having a pretty crazy week with school and things, so it was such a suprise when I came home to..

I am so blessed to have the husband I have, even when he is still in pain from the marathon he was able to do dishes, clean the house, make the bed and do his homework! whew! I love you hun!

Bens first Marathon!

So this weekend Ben and I went to St. George because Ben did his first marathon!! he finished the 26.2 miles around 5hrs, We are all so proud of you!! It would take me all day to do it ha! Bens brothers also did it which is nice because then you don't feel to alone while running.

So yesturday Ben turned 25! And we had so much fun :) first we went camping with the Murie clan up at duck creek this weekend and did some hiking and had some good family time, it was also nice to get away from school/work for a weekend :) We then came back to Cedar and had a B-day get together with the Alldredge side and I must say Ben and I made some amazing Quiche and salad (thanks for the recipe Tana!) and Ben had his pie instead of cake and it was a blast! We would like to thank ALL of our families for the love, birthday wishes and gifts for Ben, he is going to be having a lot of fun with his gifts for a long time! And I also wanted to say that I am so blessed to have Ben as my husband, he works so hard in school and work for us! I look forward to many more years full of adventure! <3

1 year already?!

Yes Ben and I have Been married for 1 year on the 2nd :) So to celebrate by going on a road trip to Washington/Oregon. We went camping in Port Angeles WA and went to Olympic Natl. Park to do some hiking ect. We really had such a blast since Ben has wanted to go up there for a while, and I wanted to do some major twilight site seeing! We really loved the perfect temperatures, cloudyness and all the green plants! I wish I could post ALL pictures but there really is a lot, so ill put the rest on my face book for you to enjoy as well.

So it has come to my attention that I haven't blogged since Easter...how embarrassing, haha so with encouragement to post again from people *cough* Lily *cough* here we go.

Ben and I love hanging out with Joel Lily and Sophia! expecially Sof! (no offense) But who could hate her face?!

So I did my first "official" 5k on saturday for trails day, it was a little hard since it was a last min. thing, but overall not to bad! My mom even gave it a try!

Ben went on a camping trip with Kelly Sr., Adam and a close friend. They found this little nook at Kolob, and had a good man outing :)

Ben also did the St. George triathalon! Kelly Jr. had a free spot, so with 1 week notice Ben did it! Im soooooo proud of my husband, you have no idea.

Easter

Hey everyone! So over Easter break Ben and I decided to have some "educational fun" haha actually it was more of a mini road trip...we went to see the Mountain Meadow Massacre monument over by Enterprise. It was WAY windy hence my crazy hair in all the pictures :). We also stayed down in Hurricane for Kelly Sr. birthday! It was so great seeing all the family get together and have some good fun. and spending late nights at Kelly and Marias playing video games (Ben and Kelly did most of the video game playing) and eating all the easter candy..yum!

Also known as "the minions" and my parents came with us, as you can tell they had a great time :). After the Mountain Meadows we went to Snow Canyon and had a little picknick and we ate the best pita bread of our lives!

While in Hurricane Kelly was so nice to let us use his tools and things to make our little Moses a new home :) wait... nobody knows about Moses?! Well in the past couple weeks Ben and I had the feeling that we were missing something...so we decided we needed a new addition to the family (no not a baby..gottcha huh?) a baby snake! So we now have a albino snow carn snake named Moses he is really just what we wanted and more :)

So here are all the adorable little cousins all together! So cute! We don't have kids to spoil or take pictures of yet, so these girls will get all Ben and Heathers attention haha our kids better be as cute as these girls!

Spring Break and things

Sorry i've been putting off blogging for a bit due to school and that nothing overly exiting has happened for a while haha. But now that we had spring break I have something to post about! So we went to California to visit Disneyland and the Zoo, (So we took a lot of pictures..so here are a few) We really had the time of our lives! Also in the past couple months I did my first triathalon with Ben! It was something I would like to try again to, Ben finished in 1 hr and I finished in 1hr 30 we even made our own shirts for the event :)

Murie Sushi Night!

So the past few months Ben and I have moved to our new apartment, had our first Christmas and started Spring Semester at SUU! All events were pretty fun :) I am trying to find where we put our pictures from Christmas since the move, but they will be posted as soon as they are found!
So for Christmas Ben and I went down to Hurricane and had a amazing time with the Murie family and kids, then we came to Cedar and spent some time with the Alldredge fam.
after Christmas Ben and I moved to our new apartment! Its two rooms and MUCH bigger than our other apt. and its schlorship housing so who would pass that up? not us! Ben and I are SOO thankful to everyone who helped us move and set us up with our new apartment, we really love all of you!!
So the pictures im posting are from tonight, Ben and I decided to have our first annual Murie Sushi night! haha, so we bought a sushi roller for 50 cents, so we decided to make Sushi and take it to the theatre and watch 7 pounds (it was a great movie..I teared up). So we are still crazy in love with each other and love our families!

The past two months

So Ben and I have been pretty busy with school, but believe it or not, we do have free time! whow, so we visted the family in Hurricane and had a get together with both families it was WAY fun. Also Ben and I decided to try our hand at making maple pumpkin cheesecake..delicious! It is now our cooking obsession of the year haha. We also got to go to Vegas to see my cousin before he leaves on his mission, while we were there we went to the cheesecake factory (we really are obsessed with cheesecake) and chilled with lily and Joel and went to phantom of the opera!! It was really one of the best shows we have ever seen, now only were the effects amazing but the acting and singing was perfect!

Ben and I love being married, and we loving doing everything together. So last sunday we went for a drive up the canyon it was so beautiful! We even saw a few deer, they are so cute one of them just stood in the middle of the road for 2 min and just stared at us haha.

So it's done! Ben and I are married and loving it! We are also FINALLY moved into our apt. which was a mess ha. And we have funiture and food so we are good! We would like to thank everyone for all your gifts and support for us! especially all of our family!!! We love you all! So Ben and I are just getting adjusted to real life. Ben works at Ace and I work at PF and SUU. But
we still have time to be with each other, hopefully even when school starts :). And ill be trying to keep pictures ect. updated on everything crazy Ben and I do, like me attempting to build a bookshelve and Ben fixing it so it looks like one...so enjoy!Ben & Heather
